Fractal Design Define R4 Fan Controller

Ah, that makes sense regarding the foam so. I was looking at the silent wings fans, but I've also found Xilence'due south fans to be neat for the price aswell (£six or and so for a 120mm PWM). I see you've got the dark rock pro 2, how does information technology look in the case? I'm getting the dark rock pro 3.

It's between this example and the Coolermaster 690 III for me, I'm really unsure of what to decide. I like the fan controller in the fractal blueprint but I don't know how much I'll actually use information technology, may be easier just to get a few pwm fans with some splitters and use mobo headers instead.

Back when i bought my PC, i decided between the R4 and the CM 690 ii. I call back the R4 is more understated, less plastic and i am a total silence freak.

I need to upgrade my Profile, i already take the DR iii paired with two x 120 mm bequiet Shadow wings PWM. I attached some quick pics i took with my Nexus 4. The photos totally don't do justice for how awesome it looks. :D

I went away from using the R4s fan controller because i desire to be abled to turn my fans off completeley and automatically control them.

I recall a clever choice of motherboard + PWM fans is a better solution than what i did. (which was  using the bitfenix Recon)

Yet some inexpensive PWM fans can make some flickering noise, which is why i went with 3 pin fans. You can compare it on this website: http://www.hardwaremax.net/reviews/luefter/625-exam-bitfenix-spectre-und-spectre-pro-120-mm-luefter.html?showall=&start=5

sad, it's german, compare the ones that i marked in the picture below.

Also, for 3 pin fans you need voltage control. If your motherboard supports voltage control, so that'due south slap-up, if not, a fan controler might be the amend solutoion.

ANYWAYS, i am getting ahead of myself, this is the existent niddy griddy stuff, i wouldn't plan too much.

Edit: you can go with the R4 fan controller and only 3 fans for the showtime. yous won't waste coin that way. and yous can decide on futurity expanbsions when you lot actually have the PC. (easier planning)

from the other thread:

Oh my days. I feel like an accented fucktard. I thought I was posting on that topic I only fabricated right at present regarding the r4's controller.......

Facepalm.

Edit: Okay so now that I can read titles of topics, for the cm 690 Three, a fan splitter such as the gelid would be ideal every bit it is powered by molex so would be guaranteed to provide enough ability for four fans. For the fractal design, I can utilise a few general splitters such as http://www.stuff-great britain.net/p-996699.aspx?gclid=CPSOoPzO0b4CFUXnwgodXA0AZQ and they should do the job in providing power for more than 3 fans through the fan controller?

The R4 fan controller accepts three pin only, it'due south very basic.
